Bolivian Blue Leg Birdeater

Pamphobeteus antinous

PamphobeteusTheraphosidae

Overview

**Bolivian Blue Leg Birdeater** — Males display striking iridescent blue coloration on the legs and are among the most visually impressive tarantulas in the hobby. Females are larger but less colorful. More shy than aggressive — tends to retreat rather than threaten. A fossorial species that will burrow deeply given the opportunity. Common name varies in the trade ('Bolivian Black' typically refers to an undescribed cf. form). Fast growing with large appetites. A good step-up species from beginner-level tarantulas.
