Overview

**Blue Leg Baboon Tarantula** — A striking South African species with blue-black leg banding. Closely related to H. pulchripes (Golden Blue Leg Baboon) but from a cooler, western South African range.

⚠️ OLD WORLD SPECIES: No urticating hairs; defensive. For experienced keepers.

Prefers cooler temperatures than most tarantulas (68-78°F), reflecting the Mediterranean-like climate of the Western Cape. Room temperature care in most temperate climates. Keep dry with a water dish. A slow grower and intermittent feeder — fasting is common and normal. Less frequently available than H. pulchripes but increasingly captive-bred. An excellent addition to an Harpactira collection.
