Overview

**East African Brown Barrel Tarantula** — A small, chunky fossorial baboon spider from the savanna regions of East Africa. Rarely emerges from its burrow and is primarily a 'display' species in the sense of watching it disappear underground.

⚠️ OLD WORLD SPECIES: No urticating hairs; defensive; Old World venom. Handle with appropriate caution.

A slow grower and irregular feeder — long fasting periods between molts are normal. Keep conditions dry with deep, compactable substrate for burrowing. A water dish provides all necessary hydration.

E. constrictus is not commonly kept and may be challenging to source, but is an interesting addition for collectors wanting comprehensive East African fossorial representation. Its small size makes it appropriate for smaller enclosures.
