Overview

**Giant Earth Tiger** — A large, impressive Asian fossorial with jet-black coloration and an enormous, intimidating presence. One of the larger tarantulas in the Cyriopagopus genus. Formerly placed in Haplopelma.

⚠️ OLD WORLD SPECIES: No urticating hairs; extremely fast and defensive; potent venom. For experienced keepers only with secure setups.

Requires deep, moist substrate (6-8 inches) from a tropical Southeast Asian habitat with consistently high humidity. Mist regularly. A very fast grower and aggressive feeder. Some keepers report this species as even more defensive than C. schmidti — approach all enclosure maintenance with great caution and always use long tongs.

An impressive specimen for advanced collectors seeking a large, imposing Asian fossorial with serious attitude.
