A hardy Brazilian terrestrial with a red carapace. Skittish and burrowing as a youngster, settling into a calm display animal as it grows. Slightly more moisture than a Mexican species — dampen half the substrate, keep a water dish. Urticating hairs, mild venom. Good beginner.
